There are two options: Take a Metra Rock Island District train from La Salle Street Station at Van Buren and La Salle Streets in downtown Chicago to Vermont Street in Blue Island. Alternatively, take a Metra Electric (former Illinois Central) train from either Millennium or Van Buren Street stations downtown to the end of the line at Blue Island.
