This band bids farewell to Elvis and the Beatles and says hello to the Clash, Ramones, Flock of Seagulls, Billy Idol, Bryan Adams and even Toni Basil. Villages' demographics are changing and the Spazmatics are appealing to a newer, younger audience that came of age in the '80s and '90s. The Spazmatics feel the heat at Lake Sumter Landing.

Seven acts - Clark Barrios Band, Uncle Bob's Rock Shop, Swing Theory, MPIRE, Andrew Morris Band, Dance Express and Blue Stone Circle - are paid $1,200 per performance. And five others - 501 Blues Band, Cactus Jack & The Cadillacs, Caribbean Chillers, Hayfire and Think Big Band - are paid $1,200 per show.

THE VILLAGES HOMETOWN BAND is comprised of Villages residents with a variety of musical backgrounds, from professional to those who have picked up their instruments after an extended hiatus. The Villages Concert Band, The Villages New Horizons Band and The Villages Hometown Band are three concert bands that began rehearsals back in September. The Villages Swing Band, currently under the direction of Lew Buckley, will join The Villages Presentation Band on stage for a few songs on Oct. 21 as part of its concert.
