Coach & Horses Mayfair. A narrow Grade II listed public house with mock Tudor facade on Bruton

The Coach and Horses is a legendary pub in Soho's long history, favoured by innumerable famous faces - writers, actors, journalists and many more. On a Hidden London walk on the day we heard about John Hurt's passing, it seemed entirely appropriate to pop in for a swift pint and to raise a glass to the old curmudgeon in one of his favourite haunts.

The Coach and Horses pub in Bruton Street certainly stands out from the crowd - or not perhaps - as it's thought to be one of London's narrowest pubs. With room for only five tables and a little bit of standing space in front of the bar, it's certainly a cosy drinking experience.
