Ink Review 300 Krishna Jungle Volcano — Mountain of Ink

The most popular of these inks is probably Jungle Volcano. Recently, Krishna informed us that they have had to make some adjustments to the formula of Jungle Volcano. Due to catastrophic weather conditions and severe flooding in India, it was difficult for them to source the ingredients needed year round to meet the demand for the ink.

Krishna Ink Review Jungle Volcano — The Pen Addict

The jungle volcano works somewhat with generous pens in my experience. I got some half decent outcomes with a Lamy 1.1 stub which can be convinced to give enough ink. If a lid gets stuck, run it under a hot tap for a few minutes first. Use a watersoluble pencil for your initial drawing so the lines dissolve as you apply the ink. Use a pipette filled with water to dilute colour on your palette. To avoid getting harsh lines on large areas of colour, dampen the paper first.

Krishna's Jungle Volcano Inkdependence!

Jungle Volcano is meant to evoke the natural hues of…well, a volcano in the jungle. The first iteration of this ink had more of a brown base hue and monster sheen. Unfortunately, catastrophic weather conditions and severe flooding in India in 2019 meant Krishna couldn't source the materials they use for Jungle Volcano.

Jungle Volcano dries at a fairly normal rate across all papers and doesn't smear later on, whereas other super-sheen inks tend to resist drying (at all) and will smear if you casually thumb through journal pages that the ink was written on. Jungle Volcano has next-to-no water resistance.
