Grótta is a land-tied island at the end of the town of Seltjarnarnes in Iceland, home to the stunning Grótta Lighthouse. During low tide, the path between the island and the mainland (known as the tombolo) is revealed, like magic! This beautiful island became a nature reserve in 1974, with approximately 450 couples of artic terms nesting on.

Jul 2018. Fun off-road experience with the kids in their pram. It has amazing views on the way over to the faro. Nice experience, even for the kids. Grotta is a lighthouse located on the tip of Seltjarnarnes Peninsula, in a place that was declared a nature reserve in 1974. The lighthouse was built in 1897 and later, in 1947 was built another one close by. Lately, it became one of the most visited sites in Reykjavik area, being an amazing place for walking, biking or bird watching.
