Hlane (meaning 'wilderness') is the Kingdom of Swaziland's largest protected area. It is an immense flat lowland thick with 1,000-year-old hardwood trees like knobthorn, leadwood and tambuti with some grasslands and shallow pans. Hlane has survived the ravages of poaching and competing land uses to emerge as one of Swaziland's best parks.
