La Chiesa di Santo Stefano è una delle più interssanti tra quelle presenti ad Assisi. E' infatti probabilmente l'unica chiesa che non ha avuto modifiche architettoniche siano interne che esterne. Praticamente Noi vediamo oggi la stessa chiesa come fu costruita nel 1166, in un'epoca in cui San Francesco non era ancora nato.
