Jun 24, 2005. #4. i nearly bought one like this (made for Japanese domestic use) about two years ago at an equivalent of $40. unfortunately, it reads an average of only one out of 10 CDs and can't read CD-Rs. the shop agreed to have the lens focus and tracking resistors adjusted but still, no improvement. i decided to haggle for half the price.
