The first major upgrade was to swap the Anet A8 original acrylic frame with an aluminum frame. As I mentioned in my previous post, the Anet A8 makes good prints out of the box, if assembled properly. The acrylic frame is not rigid enough to reduce the inherent wobble and vibrations of the Anet A8.

The bearings that came with the Anet A8 were completely shot, grinding and locking up during movement. As that made it impossible to even print, I replaced a lot of stuff during the conversion, switching to Igus Drylin bearings, rubber GT2 belts to replace the crap plastic ones, etc.

Some Notes: Anet A8 ist shipped with DIN 965/ISO 7046 screws (14x M3x30, 2x M3x45 for Extruder Fan). I had those laying around and shortened the M3x45 to M3x30.
