Vejer de la Frontera is a pretty, whitewashed town with some lovely restaurants. Along the coast there is also Chiclana (great market), Cadiz and Tarifa (where you can get a ferry to Morocco). Jerez is approx. 1.5 hours by car (you can do 'sherry tasting' tours there) and Seville a bit further but worth a day trip.

The one in Vejer de la Frontera was was managed, with a very nice, knowledgeable woman who knew the town extremely well. The only 'ding' against this place is its over reliance on technology. We had trouble scanning in the right codes (apparently we didn't have the correct app) in order to get our desired walking tour directions..
