Review 030 Blind Advent Calendar Day 02 Copper & Cask bourbon

In May of 2022, Cooper and Cask released a huge amount of ~6 year old single barrel bourbons that all listed Lawrenceburg, Indiana as the state of distillation. That's nothing new as C&C has used MGP bourbon before but the interesting part is that the mash bill is listed as 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley. That's not a typical MGP mashbill.

Copper & Cask Copper and Cask

Copper & Cask's inaugural Small Batch Series #001 is made from 13 barrels of Bourbon distilled in Indiana (MGP) from its 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley mashbill. Those barrels were filled in May 2015 and transported to Florida for aging. If you've never been to Florida, it is almost always hot and humid.

CopperKingsagedinPeerlessBarrels1 The Bourbon Review

Although Kentucky produces 95% of the world's bourbon, it doesn't need to be made there. For a whiskey to be considered bourbon, the mash must be made of 51% corn and be made in the United States. It tends to have notes of vanilla, caramel, and honey, making it smooth and sweet. It is often served neat, on the rocks, or in a variety of cocktails.

Copper and Cask Spirits Whiskey Reviews Bourbon Culture

Haven't seen much about either one except for this review. I have a 6 yr rye of the copper and cask that i picked up at my local place. Seems to be a store barrel pick. I enjoy it and it has a lot of depth. I don't drink rye very often so its a bit confusing for my bourbon palette. The SiBs vary in age and ABV.

Copper & Cask “Melted Eye” Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey Review

Today we're reviewing an NDP that I haven't seen much from on r/bourbon. This is a 5 year MGP store pick using their 60/36/4 (corn/rye/barley) mashbill. For those of your familiar, this is the predominant mashbill used in Remus Repeal V (not sure about previous releases). Albeit a lot younger. Lets get into it:

Copper & Kings Releases Firstever Bourbon Beverage Dynamics

God damn its been a while. Been off the sauce but plan on reviewing some new pick ups from the last few months. Now Copper and Cask is an NDP that I've reviewed before. Most bottles are 5-6 year old MGP that typically cost about $40. I recently found this pick for a slight mark-up and noticed the 8 year age statement. Thought, frigg it.
