A little history Since its creation in August 1971, every two years around August 15th, the Grand-Place reveals its splendid carpet of flowers. A masterpiece that brings together and amazes Brussels residents and tourists alike! Each edition, a particular theme. At the last edition, in 2016, to celebrate the 150 years of friendship between Belgium and Japan, the Carpet of Flowers was covered.
