Like a kindergarten project, where you cut out the paper and fold on the lines to make a box. It works really well if you need to unfold a model to make a 3d paper mockup or for metal working.

The most updated version of this sketchup plugin is V2.0. Unwrap and Flatten Faces plugin supports SketchUp 8, SketchUp 2013, SketchUp 2014 and SketchUp 2015. To apply the plugin, just right click on your component to be flattened, you will get the flatten faces option in the menu tab. The plugin is ideal for producing physical models.

Locating the Unfold Tool
As you can see in the image above, if all faces are aligned the same (as in the topmost model where all fronts point outwards), the three faces unwrap correctly. If neighboring faces have a different orientation, however, (as in the model in the lower half of the picture), then the unfolding process ends up placing faces on top of neighboring.
