Carpenterről úgy tartják, hogy a 90-es évekre megkopott a zsenije, amiben még van is igazság, de ott van mellette a tény, hogy az említett film mellett elkészítette Az őrület torkábant is, ami baromi jó lett és ez a két filmje messze az átlag felett.

Carpenter ért a hangulatteremtéshez, mind a zenéket, mind a figurákat illetõen. Woods jól hozza a félig bezsongott vámpírvadászt, és itt végre a vámpírok nem érzelgõs figurák, hanem igazi ragadozók. Az effektek persze kissé gagyik, de ezt el lehet nézni. Nálam 10/8.
