The Esperance camping area is located almost 8 kilometres along Esperance River Road. This road is signposted from the A6 highway, app. 4 kilometres south of the Dover Hotel. Tent-based camping is allowed on the north side of the Esperance River. You must carry your gear from the car park to the grassed camping area.

Wednesday 16th September 2015 Esperance River Today's walk was along the Esperance River in the Raminea Plains area. The walk start was on an old side track off Esperance River Road which turns off the highway at Strathblane. I had been here before when I walked Raminea Plains last year.

Nestled beneath the dolerite spine called The Devils Backbone, the trail follows the Hartz Peak Trail to the destination - Lake Esperance. Lake Esperance was formed as ice and snow built up on the leeward side of the mountains.
