We are pleased to welcome you to the picturesque Cockburn Wetlands Precinct, nestled amidst the Beeliar Wetlands, and to our vibrant and dynamic facility, The Wetlands Centre, for a two-day Conference on the 1st and 2nd February 2024.

Soils and landforms are the fundamental resources which shape wetlands and waterways, biodiversity and land use, especially agriculture. Agricultural production in the Catchment is worth $469.974 million per annum (source 2021 REMPLAN) and relies directly on the health and conservation of soil resources.

The Centre has a rich history, the remnants of which are still visible in and around the campus. The area was originally used as a family farm, then as a council dog pound and later as a centre for scouting activities! The Wetlands Centre opened its doors for the very first time in 1993 as the "Cockburn Wetlands Education Centre".
