The first electric trains commenced running on the Illawarra Line in June 1926 and the city underground system was opened to St James and Museum Stations in December of that year. On 19 March 1932, the Harbour Bridge was opened, connecting the North Shore Line to Wynyard Station. In 1956, the Circular Quay station opened completing the City.
