The Cactus Garden In the middle of Carnarvon's sub-tropical oasis is a cactus farm. Located on South River Road, its quickly becoming a popular photo spot for visitors. No-one knows how or why the cacti got there, but what they do know is they've been around for years - and make for an excellent photo.

Cactus Garden is an amazing and quirky cactus heaven located on South River Road in Carnarvon. The sub-tropical oasis is one man, Rob Westcott's dream with the first cacti planted some 15 years ago. Today there are over 350 cactus plants available for viewing in all their wonderful and colorful splendor, some tower over five metres tall!

One of our favourite things to do in Carnarvon is drive along the fruit loop trail. Filled with seasonal produce, incredible displays of colourful bougainvillea (see #9) and of course, Carnarvon's very own cactus garden! The cactus garden is located on south river road and can be accessed by parking on the side of the road and walking in.

Try to go around 9 am as they offer free coffee and tea if you buy an entrance ticket. The space station was used for communication with the USA and the international space station.

Resembling something like we're used to seeing in the Nevada Desert, no one really knows why it's there, but it's stunning.
